Garmin 50LMT-D Sat Nav Teardown

This variant ending in -D supports digital traffic which uses an antenna to access the traffic information via the DAB digital radio network, which is embedded within the car charger that this comes with. If you use a generic car charger you won't be able to get digital traffic, i'm pretty sure you can't get traffic via your phone's data plan, you need the 50LMT-S model. This also supports bluetooth calling. This uses a Sandisk 16GB flash memory chip for storage, after updating mine i have around 6.8GB spare storage space. this has full europe maps. I don't know what cpu this uses as there is a shield and heatsink covering the chip, i think that is soldered to the board. I don't fancy desoldering mine but if you do please share your photos.
